I’ve decided to subject myself to 31 days of horror films for the month of October. It will be a mix of rewatching stuff I haven’t seen in awhile and brand new things. Day 6:
Gerald’s Game (2017) – dir. Mike Flanagan
Gugino and Greenwood being almost 90% of the movie are carrying the film and they do such a good job with it. My only problem is it feels like the ending should have been 5 minutes earlier. I really hated the ending (normal Stephen King problem) and it kinda dragged the whole thing down. That said there is a piece of gore near the end that literally had me screaming, “NO NO NO”, out loud. I would say watch it for the actors, that one gore scene, and a generally good creepy atmosphere.
