2015 TUNE TOURNEY: Oceania Round 1 Match-Ups!

Across the world and across the bracket for the first few matchups in the Oceania region. If you haven’t voted in the first batch of Scandinavia contests, do so here.

First up, the lead track on Cut Copy’s Zonoscope album (which, incidentally, is the last LP to top Idle Time’s illustrious List, back when we still used to do that sort of thing) takes on “By & Bye”, the first single from Electric Wire Hustle’s 2014 release.

The second matchup is another Australia-New Zealand skirmish, this time between Sydney’s Flume (featuring fellow Australian Chet Faker) and Christchurch’s Nick Harte.

Showmanship takes center stage in this matchup. Vote for the song you’d rather listen to, or the wigs you’d rather wear. Empire of the Sun’s “Alive” versus Sia’s “Elastic Heart” from last year’s 1000 Forms of Fear.

Chet Faker makes a second appearance in the tournament, this time with “Talk Is Cheap” from last year’s outstanding Built On Glass. It takes the court against Cloud Control’s “Dojo Rising.”
