2015 Tune Tourney’s Elite Eight: Oceania

2  v. 4? You won’t find any Cinderellas in Oceania.

If you had told me Hiatus Kaiyote and Chet Faker would face off in the Oceania Elite Eight, I wouldn’t have been surprised. The two biggest shocks were Cut Copy and Tame Impala going out early, but I’m not complaining. Both Faker and HK are up-and-coming artists ready for the limelight; their best days are ahead of them.

“Molasses,” the penultimate track on Hiatus Kaiyote’s newly released album Choose Your Weapon, will go up against Chet Faker’s single from Built on Glass. “Talk Is Cheap” has the distinct honor of knocking off Aussie disco darlings and #1 seed, Cut Copy. It’s a tough matchup for both bands.
