2015 TUNE TOURNEY: More Scandinavia Round 1 Match-Ups!

Time to take a look at the bottom portion of each of the four brackets in this year’s Idle Time Tune Tournament. If you still need to cast votes in the Round 1A matchups, see the links below:

And then check out the tracks battling for survival in Scandinavia’s late-start contests.

It’s a Nordic double-team as Swedish singer Robyn and Norwegian duo Röyksopp team up with “Every Little Thing,” from their latest collaboration Do It Again. The tune is up against Idle Time-favorite Little Dragon and “Paris,” off their latest LP, Nabuma Rubberband.

jj’s “All White Everything” seems to have been a song three years in the making, with pieces appearing in an Adult Swim-released single accompanied by some random Ne-Yo vocals, and then developed further after the mysterious “My Boyz” video. It takes on a decidedly different track in the tournament: “Emmylou” by Swedish country duo First Aid Kit.

Lykke Li’s single “Gunshot” from her 2014 release I Never Learn faces competition from another country-influenced songwriter. “Darkness of the Dream” is from the brand new Tallest Man On Earth album, Dark Bird Is Home.

And, finally, to close out Scandinavia’s first-round matchups: two 2015 tracks from two long-time Idle Time favorites. The Moonbabies returned this year with Wizards on the Beach and “Pink Heart Mother” is the first single. Peter Bjorn & John contributed “High Up” to the Ingrid Volym 2 compilation, released as part of this year’s Record Store Day.
